Preorders! New T-Shirt and Aurelia Remasters

Relicblade Apostle Shirt

NOTE: Orders with preorder items ship together when all items are in hand.

Good news everyone! A new Relicblade Shirt preorder just opened! This year we have the Eel Sorcerer representing the Apostles of the Deep. This eel sorcerer art has a sinister moray eel head to honor Relicblade World Champion, Jon Kim. Days after winning the Relicblade tournament at AdeptiCon 2025, Jon was attacked by a moray eel and nearly had his right thumb bitten off! We love Jon, and are very grateful he is recovering use of his hand.

Instead of offering print-on-demand stuff, I like to run limited edition high quality screen printed shirts.

Be sure to Preorder your shirt ASAP so I can make one for you in your size.

I like making Relicblade shirts, but I also realize that not everyone wears graphic tees. Which makes a bag the perfect alternative. With this tote, you can arrive to game night in style. Pack your minis, water bottle, rulebooks, tokens, and snacks in this fun Relicblade bag. Heck, forget just game night. Stroll from the Farmer’s Market with your fresh kale all the way to the gas station for some monster energy drinks. I think this is fun and I am looking forward to having these bags.

These are large high quality cotton bags built to last forever.

Very High Quality. This 15.5”x13”x7” tote has a wide bottom to fit figure cases, forbidden tomes, and bulky groceries.

Lady Aurelia Remaster Preorder

Lady Aurelia is one of my more popular miniatures. She is the quintessential Relicblade questing knight and a stalwart ally! I had her metal miniature cast with a different mold maker than usual and he did a very good job. But he closed his business and I don’t have a way to restock the Lady Aurelia figure without getting new molds made.

In the card artwork, Lady Aurelia is not wearing a helmet. So because I need to get new molds made, I decided to sculpt a variant with alternative head options. I am really pleased with the result. Now you can assemble the figure with or without a helmet.

Miniature production is tricky. Materials offer a lot of trade offs. Metal miniatures have a lot going for them. They are environmentally friendly, durable, flexible, and relatively affordable to make in good quantities. Of course there are draw backs as well. As the artist and business owner here at Metal King Studio, I have to balance my desire for extremely high quality minis and actually delivering a product.

Assembly techniques, careful cleaning of mold lines, patching any damage, building scenic bases, and other processes are a fun and rewarding part of the hobby. The end result will always rely on a skilled hobbyist no matter what material the model kit is made of. But material quality is always an extremely important aspect of running a model-kit business.

I’ve decided that since this Lady Aurelia remaster is a low stress project, I would experiment. These Lady Aurelia miniatures will be available in 3d printed ABS-like resin. At AdeptiCon this year, I made some con-exclusive figures in 3d printed resin and I was very happy with the quality. There is very little clean-up and no mold lines at all.

In the above photo you can see the ABS-like resin production-print next to production cast in white metal. This metal cast is very good quality with wonderful detail. Cleaning the mold lines is a normal part of the process. It is a little tricky to photograph the semi-translucent resin next to shiny metal. But it is valuable to see the materials up close.

Durability is the key reason I haven’t ever offered 3d printed minis in the past. I am happy to report that this ABS-like resin is durable, hard, and flexible.

Here is one of the Resin Lady Aurelia figures next to a sci-fi model kit I had on my desk. You can see that there is very good detail.

What’s most exciting for me, as the artist, is the fidelity to the original sculpt and vision. These production prints are perfect replicas of my original work.

Resin copies of Lady Aurelia are available for pre-order now!

I had to order more Lady Aurelia Cards, so they aren’t ready to ship today. But I wanted to open pre-orders at the same time as the new shirt so if folks wanted to pick up both items in the same order the could.

Your orders will ship as soon as I have everything in your specific ordered in hand.

More ABS-Like Resin Remasters!!

I love the quality of the ABS-like material. So I dug into two popular figures that are out of stock due to production complications. These remasters also gave me the opportunity to fix some extremely minor issues I had with the sculpts. For example, the Alt Iguan Marauder’s crossbow came out smaller than I wanted once the shrinkage from the mold making process took it’s toll. I also adjusted the helmet so it sits a little bigger on the skull and adjusted the spikes to be more pronounced. The spikes don’t even always come out in the metal casts! I also adjusted the size of the bounty hunter’s feet. Which I thought came out a little small in the original version.

Gosh. It’s not a big deal, but I love seeing more of the details preserved in this material.

ABS-Like Resin Testimony: Matt Lechtenberg

I sent and advance copy of Lady Aurelia to Matt Lechtenberg for him to peep the quality. Here is what he said.
