Plastic Pig Update

Season’s Greetings RelicBuds,

I have a few exciting updates to share about the upcoming plastic kit for Relicblade.

Plastic production is a new adventure. There is a lot to say about the journey, but the most important thing is that the project is going really well so far!

ETA March 2026

The new plastic set should be available by March 2026. There are still some major milestones to get past. The proof process is finished for the plastic frame and the printed goods, but the next hurdle is shipping and customs, including tariffs. I hope to have all the product in my studio by March so I can bring plastic sets to AdeptiCon. That is the plan anyway.

Plastics Preview

Test shot of the Battle Pigs frame.

Last week, I received a sample of the new battle pigs frame. The quality is even better than I had hoped for. I am extremely pleased with the results. I recorded a casual YouTube video to go over everything in detail, so you can watch, or listen, to that for the scoop!

Crisp Details!

I am super impressed with the details on the models. A combination of careful engineering and high end mold making technology has resulted in some of the best Relicblade models so far!

Plastic Raider Pig. Cool action pose since he is getting a bonus AD and is now action guy!

The fellas all together.

High quality 3d print detail compared to plastic. The light grey figure on the left is a resin print. The plastic on the right has crisper detail! And look how tight the fit is for the head bit attached to the body. Chef Kiss.

Super close up of the shield pig head. You can see the eye lids and teeth. Dang, I am so pleased. You can see just how small this detail is next to my finger prints. There is some discoloration from the super-glue I used. I am kind of sensitive to plastic glue fumes, so I used CA glue on this. But plastic glue works on this material too. It is normal HIPS material.

It’s Still Relicblade

The plastic set is a big step and certainly makes me hopeful for the future. That said, the Relicblade miniatures range is still mostly metal models. All the battle pig expansion characters, such as Berserker Pig, Vermin Mouth, and Hellebore are metal minis that you’ll want in your Battle Pig warband. The scale and style on the new plastic models blend perfectly with the rest of the range.

Have fun collecting Relicblade!
